Kathy Jin, a performance artist whose main specializations are in costume-making and contemporary dance, is also a part-time line cook. As she’s based in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal) and Tkaronto (Toronto), her work revolves around normative research, feminist construction, gender and meaning-making. She’s currently a student at Concordia University in her 4th year as a scenography major. In her studies, she commits to performance-related disciplines such as lighting design, sound design, multimedia, costume design, set design and dramaturgy. She was inspired by the mise-en-scene within performance as she trained as a ballet/contemporary dancer for more than a decade in her past. She continues to seek how performance formulates world-making.
